Greek New Wave director Tsangari sets this satirical film on a luxury yacht in the middle of the Aegean Sea, where six diverse men are on a fishing vacation. Overcome by farcical machismo after their first catch, the men devise an unusual game to determine who is the most masculine. The winner of this curious series of contests will wear the victorious signet ring, the “chevalier.” Official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival. Contains several brief scenes of frontal nudity.
Speaker: Vassiliki Rapti, Preceptor in Modern Greek at Harvard University, whose publications and research interests center upon Modern Greek literature, avant-garde theatre and performance, especially surrealist drama, and the poetics of play and games.
