Recipe for Kotopoulo Lemonato – Greek Style Chicken with lemon
Chicken with Lemon Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 or 3 pound chicken, cut into pieces
- 3 white potatoes, peeled and quartered
- Juice of 1 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How to Make Greek Lemon Chicken:
Add the butter to a frying pan and let it melt over medium heat. Sauté chicken until golden brown on all sides. Transfer to 3-quart casserole and surround with the potatoes.
Drizzle the mixture with the lemon juice and hot water and then sprinkle with the salt and pepper.
Cover the pan and bake the chicken for 1 hour, or until chicken is tender, basting every 20 minutes.
Remove chicken to a serving platter and pour the juices from the pan over chicken and potatoes.
