Antisamos is about 30 kilometers or so east of Argostoli. However, if you find yourself in Sami, Kefalonia’s main port, this beach will be even closer to where you are. Those looking to spend time on this island have a choice of either taking a ferry or an airplane to get here. Since the island is so large, there are multiple ferry routes and there is also the possible that you can get a flight from large hubs like Athens or even from elsewhere in Greece. The film, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which starred Nicholas Cage, was partially filmed at this beach.
This beach is also well organized, which means that there are nearby services to enjoy as well as sun beds and umbrellas to rent. The overall crowd is a mix of beachgoers and those who are here to enjoy the scenery. Every now and then, people who want to witness a Hollywood filming location will head to this beach, as well, especially if they really enjoyed the movie.
