Written by in , Comments Off on Best Beaches on Tilos Island

Tilos is one of those islands that seems to have been forgotten, but this proves to be a good thing for those who do arrive here. Even though it isn’t busy, there is still a healthy bustle to some of the major attractions on the island, including the beaches. While you won’t be the only ones at the beach, you certainly won’t experience some of the crowds that are present at Greece’s busier island. Here’s a list of some of the best beaches to visit while on Tilos:

Livadia Beach

Since Livadia Beach is so close to the main area on the island, it is one of the island’s busiest. Despite that, it is still a great place to relax! Like many of the beaches in Greece, this one is made up of both pebbles and sand, so it is a good idea to where a pair of comfortable sandals while walking through the beach. The water here is warm and inviting and since the beach is several kilometers long, you’re bound to find a the perfect place to rest for the day. This also considered a beach that is well-organized, which means that there are some services nearby, as well as umbrellas and chairs to rent.

Eristos Beach

One thing that sets Eristos Beach apart from the rest of the beaches on the island is that it is easy to access. This beach is also known for being exceptionally peaceful. It’s about 3 kilometers from the capital of Tilos, Megallo Chorio, which means that you can easily take public transportation or a taxi to the beach if you haven’t rented a car. There are also plenty of facilities to enjoy at the beach, such as a place to eat, bathrooms, and even some chairs to rent. Since it is set apart off the beaten track this beach won’t have as many people as Livadia, but if the tranquility is what you’re looking for, this is the beach for you!

Agios Antonios Beach

Agios Antonios Beach is an incredibly long beach, which means that even if you visit it during a busy day, you’ll still be able to find a place to rest that won’t be overloaded with people. There’s more than enough room for everyone! This is also another of those beaches that is made up of both sand and pebbles, so it is a good idea to bring a pair of sturdy shoes. Unfortunately, this isn’t an organized beach and there are no sun beds and umbrellas available here. However, if you bring a blanket and a picnic lunch, it is still worth it to spend time at this beach.

Plaka Beach

Plaka Beach is another of those remote beaches that don’t have sun beds and umbrellas. However, the beach does boast gorgeous views and excellent scenery so it is still worth a visit. During peak tourist season, this beach also makes a nice escape for those who are looking to avoid some of the heftier crowds on the island.

While on Tilos, you won’t want to miss these gorgeous beaches!
