In fact, this is a great experience to have if you really want to see what life was like on the island before tourism really became prevalent! Most of Greece has been inhabited since ancient times, which means that the best way to learn about it is through archaeological digs. If you’re interested in the history of the island, you won’t want to miss the Karpathos Archaeological Museum. On the surface, the artifacts may look fairly modest – but they do offer a nice overview of the island’s history. Besides, the museum itself is in a fabulous location. Perched on a seaside cliff, it boasts amazing views of the sea below.
