Written by in , Comments Off on Best Beaches to Visit on Lefkada Island in Greece

When visiting Lefkada in Greece it is clear that you can have two different types of experiences. On the eastern coast of the island, there are plenty of resorts that will satisfy the part of you that wants a more “typical” Greek vacation. The island is also incredibly beautiful, and when exploring the heart of the island you are sure to find beautiful local flavor, gorgeous scenery, and plenty of beaches to lounge on. In fact, many people who come here are in search of the perfect beach! Here’s a look at the beaches on Lefkada Island that you won’t want to miss:

Porto Katskiki

If you want to visit a major beach that seems to attract visitors and locals alike, you won’t want to miss the chance to visit Porto Katsiki. This is not only one of the best beaches on the island, but it also constantly makes top lists of the best beaches in all of Greece! The reason it is so popular is that this beach has a stunning natural beauty. The beach itself is made of fine sand, but much of the beach is surrounded by dramatic cliffs that shield the wind. Overall, this beach is very pleasant and perfect for lounging and swimming. There are also sun beds and umbrellas to rent.

Egremni

This is another one of those beaches on Lefkada that is incredibly beautiful. Made up of a long stretch of sand, this beach is also surrounded by cliffs. Like Porto Katsiki, Egremni Beach is also a major tourist attraction. If you are staying in Lefkada Town, it is about a 40 kilometer drive to get here. You can hire a taxi, rent a car, or even take public transportation to get here. If you know you want to spend plenty of time at this beach, you can also stay in a resort or hotel nearby so that you don’t have to constantly travel that distance.

Kathisma

Kathisma Beach is also considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. However, this one is a little bit more off the beaten track than Porto Katsiki, which keeps the crowds down. It is about 15 kilometers away from Lefkada Town, and that makes it close enough to be perfectly accessible for those who are staying there, but far away enough to keep the crowds at bay. This beach is made up of a strip of fine sand, and there are also sun beds and umbrellas to rent.

Agios Ioannis

If you are staying in Lefkada Town, Agios Ioannis Beach is the closest beach. Since it is only a short distance from the town, this means that it can get pretty busy, especially during peak tourist season. It is a pleasant beach made up of a long strip of sand. The waters are warm and the sun is warm and inviting. There are also sun beds and umbrellas to rent.

While visiting the Greek island of Lefkada, you will absolutely want to visit these beaches.
