Best Beaches in Mykonos Greece

Mykonos island in Greece

Mykonos is an island of Greece that is most well known for its nightlife. Aside from that, it’s also the home of some amazing beaches! Some of these beaches are directly tied into the “party culture” that has made Mykonos Greece so famous. Others are much quieter and are great places to relax and soak up the sun. Here’s an overview of some of the best beaches that the island has to offer.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach is one of Mykonos’s most famous beaches and where a lot of the famous nightlife is concentrated. Spend the day soaking up the sun and splashing around in the warm seawater. At night, enjoy the sunset while sipping cocktails by the water and eating one of those fantastic meals that Greece is known for. If you’re staying in Platis Yialos, there’s a footpath that goes from the village to the beach. Otherwise, you can easily take a bus, taxi, or water taxi to this famous beach.

Super Paradise Beach

Super Paradise Beach is actually a separate beach from Paradise Beach, and it’s easy to get the two confused. This beach also has soft sand, great views, and an amazing nightlife. However, since Super Paradise Beach is a little more remote, it doesn’t necessarily get the types of crowds that Paradise Beach does. You can easily get to this beach from any point on the island by taxi, water taxi, or bus. It’s also a great beach for water sports such as scuba diving and snorkeling.

Kalo Livadi

Kalo Livadi is one of the more family friendly beaches in Mykonos. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have plenty of parties! By day, it’s a great place for people of all ages to relax and enjoy the sun and warm water. By night, the beach boasts a thriving nightlife! The fact that it is about 10 KM away from Mykonos Town does dissuade some of the crowds, though, especially those that have arrived to Mykonos from the cruise ships.

Agios Stefanos

If you’re looking for a beach that is on the quieter side, Agios Stefanos is the place to be. However, there are still some restaurants and tavernas there to enjoy after you’re done soaking up the sun! Since it’s in a protected alcove, it is free of much of the wind that the other beaches get hit with, which makes it an ideal spot for sunbathing that is on the quieter side. It’s also a great beach for water sports.

Kalafatis Beach

While most of the other popular beaches on Mykonos are well organized with facilities and plenty of beds for sunbathing, Kalafatis Beach doesn’t have as strong of a presence in that regard. However, it is one of the most active beaches on the island. So, if water sports are something you desire, this beach has plenty of options. You can even find facilities for diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, and jet skis. Most of this equipment can be rented.

These beaches in Mykonos Greece are all well worth the visit!
