The St Nicholas Greek Festival over the past 40 years proves itself over and over again as a a fun event for all ages. This years' Greek Festival year promises to be another great event. The families of the St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Portsmouth, NH get together in June and early July preparing many of the menu items. So come join us for fresh Lamb shanks and skewers, Moussaka, a Gyro or a fresh piece of Baklava. All of the food and pastries at the St Nicholas Greek Festival, taste just like your YiaYia's (Grandmother) recipes.

Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Manchester, NH

The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church will hold GREEKFEST, its annual two-day festival, on Saturday and Sunday, August 24 and 25, 2013 at the church grounds at 111 Island Pond Road in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The annual festival is held as a celebration of the parish's August 15 Feast Day. The hours are from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free and parking is available. The festivities will take place under a big tent.

This year's festival will feature live Music by the band Ta Dilina on Saturday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Sunday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.

"Our annual festival is an annual Manchester attraction drawing thousands of visitors throughout New England," said Father Athanasios Nenes, parish priest of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. "The Festival makes for a wonderful weekend, full of great authentic Greek food and fun activities for the entire family. We want our guests to sample Greek hospitality at its best. It is a chance to bring the entire multi-cultural community of Manchester together to celebrate the Greek culture", said Costas Georgopoulos, parish council President.

Visitors will be able to sample a variety of Greek food and pastry – all made by the parish's excellent chefs. Choices for lunch or dinner include barbecued lamb, roast chicken, pastitsio, stuffed peppers, meatballs, grape leaves, loucanico, souvlaki, gyro, and lamb and veggie pockets. Spinach and cheese peta, rice pudding, loukoumathes, and traditional pastries such as baklava, finikia, and kourambiethes will also be available. Ice cream sundaes made with baklava or loukoumathes are some of the other special treats offered. A variety of vendors will be selling fine jewelry, gifts, crafts, ethnic, and religious items. Other highlights of the festival include a multi-prize raffle, a penny sale, children's activities, and tours of the church.

The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England will be holding it's annual Grecian Festival at the Cathedral this year. It is a return to tradition and location our ancestors first had the festival. The Festival has a titled Greekfest Boston. Three days of Greek Foods, Greek Dancing and events for everyone. Even dancing on Parker Street. Tour the Cathedral while you're at the Greekfest Boston and especially visit our newly renovated upper hall and museum. Open to the public and no admission fee. If you don't wish to drive, there is public transportation wi the Green Line E line. The Orange Line at Ruggles Station and the 39 bus from Forest Hills, and Back Bay Station. Briong your friends from the area or from out of town. There will be plenty of parking around the Cathedral, as we're able to use the over 400 parking spaces provided for by Wentworth University at no charge.
