Getting to Evia
Before you can actually do your hike, you need to find your way to the island. Evia has its own regional airport and there are daily flights that go there from the Athens Airport. It is important to understand that this hike isn’t suited for everyone and it takes someone who is at least at an intermediate level of fitness in order to complete it. There are some steep areas, and climbing uphill for so long takes a certain level of physical conditioning that not everyone has. It is also a good idea to make sure you have enough food and water to make you safe. Proper clothing and footwear is also a must. You should also let someone who isn’t hiking with you where you are going in case you have a problem while on the trail.

As mentioned above, it takes an average of four hours to hike to the summit of this mountain. It should take around three hours in order to hike down. While it is possible to complete this hike in one day, it is also physically exhausting. Fortunately, there is a shelter located at about the 1000 meter, or 3280 foot, point which will enable you to spend the night on the mountain and get some rest. You can summit when you wake up the next morning and then leisurely make your way back down to Myli.
