Pork is one of the most popular gyro meats that you can find on the market. When you buy gyros in Greece, chances are pretty good that the meat was made from pork.

Pork Gyro Recipe Ingredients:

  • 4 Greek pita bread rounds
  • 1 recipe Greek tzatziki
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • Crumbled feta cheese
  • Slices of Gyro meat (eyeball it, but about 4-8 slices per sandwich depending on the size of the pita)
  • Dried Greek Oregano

How to Make Traditional Pork Gyro Recipe:

Prepare the pita bread and tzatziki according to the recipe instructions. You may also use store bought pita bread or tzatziki.

Spread a generous amount of tzatziki on each of the pita bread. Top with chopped onion, tomato, feta cheese, and then add the pork gyro meat. Sprinkle more tzatziki over the top, if desired. Also, sprinkle some oregano over all the ingredients.

Roll the gyro sandwich and wrap it in aluminum foil so it can hold the shape.
