Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Greek Chocolate Salami

Chocolate is a relatively new addition to Greek cuisine, but it has definitely been embraced. This dish, also referred to as Chocolate Logs, Kormos, or Mosaiko, is a staple at cafes, patisseries, restaurants, and tavernas throughout Greece. It is also incredibly easy to make at home.

Greek Chocolate Salami Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped cookies of choice (biscotti, koulourakia, sugar cookies, etc)

How to Make Greek Chocolate Salami:

Add the butter, confectioners’ sugar, and cocoa powder to a mixing bowl and whisk together until well combined. Gently whisk in the orange zest. Stir in the cookie crumbs.

Spread the mixture over a piece of parchment or waxed paper and let it set on the counter for a few minutes. When. you can work with the mixture, form it into a log shape within the parchment paper and wrap the ends with a twist tie like a candy wrapper. Refrigerate the log for 4 hours or until chilled all the way through.
