This dish is simply prepared and is popular throughout Greece. You can use any kind of cut of lamb you can find, such as lamb shank or a leg of lamb.

Greek Style Roasted Lamb with Lemon (Arni Lemonato) Recipe Ingredients:

  • 5-6 pound leg of lamb with the bone, fat trimmed
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges
  • Rosemary, to garnish

How to Make Greek Roasted Lamb With Lemon:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place the lamb in a roasting pan and rub with the garlic clove and then sprinkle lemon juice. Pour the rest of the lemon juice over the lamb. Rub the lamb with salt, pepper, and oregano.

Cover the pan with aluminum foil and set the pan in the center of the oven. Bake for thirty minutes and then remove the pan from the oven. Add the potatoes and cook until a meat thermometer inserted into the area near the bone reads that it is done. This can vary, but the lamb will cook for about 1.5 hours total. Garnish the lamb with rosemary just before serving.
