Rhodes is known as being one of the must unique islands in all of Greece. The reason for this is that it has a rich and unique history since, at one time, it was the official seat of the Knights of Saint John. Here’s more information:

This means that no matter where you are on the island, all you need to do is head to Town and then rent a taxi, take a bus, or drive you rental car to Ixia Bay, which is where the beach is. To get to the island of Rhodes, you have choice between taking a flight into the regional airport from Athens or elsewhere in Greece or Europe or taking a ferry into the main port on the island.

About Ixia Beach

Ixia Beach is located on Ixia Bay, which is an area of the island near Rhodes Town that has plenty for people to see and do. Along the bay there is an area that has plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes to enjoy. So, when you head to this area, you can do more than just lounge on the beach. You’ll want to spend some time exploring the area. This area is so scenic that it is widely regarded as one of the prettiest beaches on the island. While here, you will find locals and tourists alike enjoying the beautiful Greek sunshine.

What to Do at Ixia Beach

As mentioned above, this beach is made of fine pebbles and not sand. This mans you’ll want to wear a sturdy pair of shoes, especially if you plan on walking along the shore. This is also a great beach for lounging and since this area is so built up, there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent. It stays warm into October, which means that it is possible to have a good beach day late in the season. Besides lounge in the sun and walk, this is a popular beach for windsurfers since the winds are fairly consistent. Consider trying it out while you’re here! There are some nearby places where you can rent equipment. There are also plenty of hotels nearby so if you love the beach, you can base your trip to Rhodes here so you can have plenty of beach days.

While on Rhodes, you’ll no doubt want to see some of the historical sites. However, that is not all the island has to offer. Consider visiting scenic places such as Ixia Beach while you’re here, as well.
