Recipe for Greek Style Fish Piquant

Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Greek Style Fish Piquant

Since so much of Greece is on or near the coast, seafood is abundant. This dish is one of the many ways freshly caught fish is prepared.

Greek Style Fish Piquant (Psari Savore) Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds fresh fish filets (such as cod, haddock, red snapper), cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil, for frying
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions to Make Spicy Greek Fish:

Rinse the fish and pat dry with paper towels. Mix the flour, salt, and pepper in a large, flat dish. Dredge each of the pieces of fish on both sides.

Pour oil into a frying pan so that it coats about 1/4-inch of the pan. Set the heat to medium and let the oil heat for a few minutes. Add the fish and fry on both sides until golden brown. This should take about five minutes each side. You may need to cook the fish in batches. When you remove the fish from the pan, place on absorbent paper towels.

When ready to serve, arrange the fish on a serving platter and sprinkle with red wine vinegar. Garnish with the dried rosemary.
