The coastal town of Nafpaktos in West Greece is situated on a bay on the north coast of the Gulf of Corinth. Nafpaktos is home to a small Venetian port, a statue of Cervantes, and the Church of Prophet Elias. It is also home to a some wonderful beaches where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Psani Beach

Psani Beach is within walking distance of the town of Nafpaktos. This beach belongs to the port of Nafpaktos. The port divides the beach into two parts. The western side is Psani Beach and the eastern side is known as Gribovo Beach. Visiting these beaches is convenient thanks to their distance from town. These sections of beaches are also called Town Beach. You will find all the conveniences you need when spending time at either beach.

If you walk along the coastline of Psani Beach, you will end up at the Castle of Nafpaktos. This is a wonderful spot to take in the view. Both Psani and Gribovo Beach have changing rooms, lifeguards, and showers. There are also two playgrounds for children as well as a tennis court. The beaches have won the Blue Flag Award, which recognizes safety and cleanliness.

Gribovo Beach is pebbled, but becomes more golden sand closer toward the water. During the summer months, the road becomes a pedestrian only zone, which is an effort to reduce accidents with the extra people enjoying the beaches. Restaurants, bars, traditional coffee houses, and cafés can be found at the beach of Gribovo.

Monastiraki Beach

Located 12 km east of Nafpaktos, Monastiraki Beach is family friendly and organized. This sandy beach is close to the beaches of Skaloma and Chiliadou. These beaches are popular with both locals and tourists. Bars and taverns can be found nearby as well as rooms to rent and other facilities. You don’t have to stray far from the beach to find what you need. The village of Monastiraki is a picturesque fishing village. The landscape around the beach and town consist of green hills, blue waters, and wild land. The beach of Monastiraki is ideal for windsurfing and swimming.

Chiliadou Beach is located at the village of Chiliadou. The waters here are perfect for swimming and though the beach isn’t very long, you will find there are beach bars and restaurant options.

Skaloma Beach is perfect for diving and swimming as the waters are clear and a lot of fish to see! You will find coffee shops, markets, and taverns within walking distance of Skaloma Beach.

Platanitis Beach

Platianitis Beach is located 7 km southwest of Nafpaktos Town. This calm beach has crystal clear waters and a pebbled shore. The area offers lovely views, especially during sunset when the skies turn shades of pink and orange. This beach also has a view of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, which is one of the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges. The bridge was inaugurated one week before the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
