About Keri Caves in Zakynthos

Keri Caves is a group of sea caves and rock arches that are located on the southern part of Zakynthos Island. Marathia Cape, where the caves are located, is known for its high white cliffs and beautiful blue water. Keri Cape is indented and there are beaches to be found around the rocks and caves. The sea where Keri Caves is located is quite deep.
Keri Caves is only accessible by sea with a tourist excursion or private boat. It’s common for divers to take boat trips to Keri Caves to explore the area.

Keri Caves can be visited by boat, which will allow you to get close enough to examine them and be taken in by their beauty. You will find yourself in awe of the caves and rocks.

When visiting Keri Caves, it is possible to stop at one of the small beaches of Marathia Cape to sunbathe or go swimming. You can also visit the Mizitres, which are two crags that are situated close to the cliffs. These Mizitres for a small beach of fine sand. At one of the crags you will notice a crack where swimming is possible.

A lot of starfish live at this location, so you will want to keep your eye out for them. Two arches along the coast are possible to travel under with a boat, which will allow you to look at the area more closely. As you swim or boat through the cave, you will be mesmerized by the reflections on the ceiling of the cave.

While in the area, you can also visit the village of Keri where you will find some taverns if you’re in the mood for a refreshing drink and delicious meal. These taverns also offer a wonderful view of the sun set. You can also access the lighthouse on the prominent end will give you with a view of the two Mizitres rocks.

Getting to Keri Caves in Zakynthos

Getting to Zakynthos Island can be done by ferry from the Port of Killini. This trip takes about one hour and you will be treated to lovely views. You can also get to the island of Zakynthos by plane. The Zakynthos International Airport receives flights from Athens and Kefalonia year round. During summer you can also fly to the island from many European locations.

The flight from Athens to Zakynthos takes about 45 minutes. Once on the island, you can get to Keri Caves by boat tour or private boat. This will allow you to get close to the caves. If you are visiting Keri Village, you can look down at Keri Caves from above.
