If you don’t want to use turkey for this recipe, you can easily substitute chicken.

Greek Style Braised Turkey Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Greek olive oil, divided
  • 2 1/2 pounds turkey drumsticks or thighs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 recipe ladolemono
  • 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped parsley

Instructions to Make Greek Braised Turkey:

Drizzle the 1/8 cup of the olive oil into a large skillet and set the heat on medium. Add the turkey and brown the meat on all four sides. Remove from the heat and place on a plate.

Add the rest of the olive oil to the skillet and stir in the onions. Saute for five minutes or until they’re soft. Stir in the wine with a wooden spoon. Scrape the bottom of the skillet with the spoon to remove some of the brown bits and incorporate it into the sauce.

Add the turkey back to the skillet. Pour the ladolemono over the top. Cover the pan and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it boils, lower the heat to about 2 and simmer for another twenty minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley just before serving.
