Recipe for Grilled Greek Style Liver

Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Grilled Greek Style Liver

It’s pretty common in Greek cuisine for cooks to use every part of an animal that they could, the liver included. This is a fairly common way to prepare it.

Greek Style Liver (Sikoti Piperato) Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 recipe ladolemono
  • 1 pound liver, such as lamb’s liver or chicken liver
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh, chopped parsley
  • Sliced onion, to garnish (optional)

Instructions on How to Prepare Greek Style Liver:

Prepare the ladolemono according to the recipe instructions.

Place the liver in a bowl and pour in the ladolemono. Toss to coat the liver with the dressing. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to marinate for about two hours.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray.

Remove the liver from the refrigerator and pat most of the marinade off of it. Arrange the liver in the baking dish in a single layer. Sprinkle with the black pepper.

Place the baking dish in the center of the oven and bake until the liver is cooked all the way through. This will depend on what kind of liver you use. In general it should take 20-30 minutes.

Remove the liver from the oven. Sprinkle with lemon juice, parsley, and onion just before serving.
