Written by in , Comments Off on Recipe for Greek Style Lobster and Spaghetti

The lobsters that are found in the sea by Greece are much different than North American lobsters. However, you can use any type of lobster for this recipe that you can find.

Greek Style Lobster and Spaghetti (Astakomakaronada) Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 pound spaghetti (choose gluten-free macaroni if following a gluten-free diet)
  • 2/3 cup Greek olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped, fresh tomatoes
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • Salt, to taste
  • 6-7 ounces of cooked lobster meat (from about 2, 1 pound lobsters)
  • 3 cups fish or lobster stock
  • 3 tablespoons chopped, fresh parsley

How to Prepare Greek Lobster Spaghetti:

Prepare the pasta according to the package instructions.

While you do that, you’ll want to prepare the sauce.

Pour the olive oil into a large skillet and set the heat to medium. Add the onion and saute until soft. This should take about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for another minute.

Stir in the tomatoes, white wine, and salt and cook the mixture for another minute. Add the lobster meat and fish stock and raise the heat to medium-high. Let the mixture boil and then set the heat to low. Simmer it for about ten minutes.

When the pasta is cooked to all dente, strain it and add it to the large skillet. Toss the ingredients together, turn off the heat, and sprinkle with fresh parsley just before serving.
