The Greek island of Amorgos is home to many beaches, many secluded and tranquil, that are perfect destinations for friends, couples, and families. Aegiali Beach is a must-see when in Amorgos. About Aegiali Beach on Amorgos

Located 20 km from the capital village of Amorgos is Aegiali Beach. The Beach features soft sand, crystalline waters, and seaweed. The beach is narrow and quite a long at 1 km long. The beach is surrounded by greenery that enhances the beauty of the landscape. Along the beach there are pine trees that provide natural shade to beachgoers.

The shallow water of Aegiali Beach makes it an ideal beach destination for families with young children. The temperature of the water is mild, not too warm or too cold. There is a playground at the site of the beach. Aegiali Beach is home to cafes, taverns, and bars where visitors will find refreshing drinks and delicious meals and snacks. Aegiali Bay is home to a diving resort.

Aegiali Beach on the island of Amorgos is the perfect place to bring a family with young children. The water is shallow and a comfortable temperature making it fun and safe for everyone. The waves are not strong at Aegiali Beach. The length of the beach makes a walk along the shore enjoyable. A romantic walk or a walk with the family should be on your to-do list.

Aegiali Beach has a diving center if you’re up for an adventure while on the island of Amorgos. The diving center offers a number of activities that are for beginners to experts, so you are sure to find something to suit your needs. If required, you can take a diving course. The diving center organizes three diving and snorkeling trips each day. There is also a night dive you can take part in.

The diving center provides a high level of training, safety, and equipment. Some of the dives sites include: cavern, wreck, and wall. If scuba diving isn’t for you, try a snorkeling trip that will take you on a boat where you can more of the island and then explore the fascinating creatures under the sea including octopus, moray eels, barracuda, sponges, and more. If you’re traveling with children 8 – 10 years old, they can enjoy taking a bubblemaker course. This is a wonderful way to introduce young children to scuba diving.

If you’re staying in Katapola, you can take the bus to Aegiali Beach, which takes about 40 minutes. The trip is lovely as you can enjoy the passing landscape. You can rent a car in Katapola if you prefer to travel at your own pace. You can even drop off the car in Aegiali, though it will cost a bit extra if you do so.

This beach is a great way to spend your time while on the island of Amorgos. When you’re done swimming or walking and need a refreshment, one of the cafes or taverns along the beach will satisfy your needs.
