The Greek island of Serifos is located between Sifnos Island and Kythnos Island. The small island of Serifos is picturesque with its coves, small hills, and the main village of Chora, which is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of a hill.

Chora, the capital of the island, is known for its whitewashed houses and buildings, cobblestone alleys, and the remnants of a castle. Serifos is also home to abandoned villages, beautiful trails, and glorious beaches.

When visiting the island of Serifos, Greece, you will want to take some time to spend at these wonderful beaches.

Livadakia Beach

The long and sandy beach of Livadakia in Serifos is one of the most popular on the island thanks to its proximity to Chora. The area of Livadakia Beach is also shared by two other beaches: Avlemonas and Livadi. Livadakia Beach is typically the most crowded.

The beach of Livadakia has bars and taverns on site. Some of them offer seating that extends to the beach area. Not far from the beach you will also find a bars. Livadakia Beach has water sports facilities including windsurfing, which is ideal to do here. If you’re looking for more adventure, there is an organized campsite found behind the beach of Livadakia.

Livadi Beach is 4 km south of Chora. Livadi Beach is long with both sand and pebbles. There is greenery surrounding the beach, which offers some shade. Livadi is known as a tourist resort, so you will find anything you need nearby. There is also some nightlife activity in the area around the bars and clubs.

Agios Sostis Beach

7 km east of Chora is the lovely bay of Agios Sostis. The beach is not isolated, but it is perfect for a day of peace and quiet. Spending time at Agios Sostis Beach will allow you access to facilities. Livadi isn’t too far and the perfect place to get everything you might need. The beach of Agios Sostis is sandy and the water is beautiful. There is a little church, also by the name of Agios Sostis, on the edge of a cliff. You can visit this church when you’re ready to do some exploring in the surrounding areas.

Psili Ammos Beach

Psili Ammos Beach is 8 km from Chora and 3.5 km from Livadi. Psili Ammos Beach in Serifos is one of the most popular beaches on the island. In fact, the beach was named the “Best Beach of Europe” in 2003. It’s no surprise as the clear blue waters and golden sand beach tend to draw the visitors. Beach tennis (racket) is a popular sport at the beach. Psili Ammos Beach is also ideal for families with children as the water is shallow. A beautiful and unique feature of the beach is the lilies that pop out from the sand. There are taverns nearby where you can go for a meal.

The beaches of Serifos, Greece have much to offer visitors who are looking for relaxation, adventure, or both.
