There are plenty of hiking paths to indulge in including one that begins in Hora and leads through the remains of the ancient city of Kastelli as well as the beautiful landscape of the Kalamos Peninsula and ends at the Monastery of Panagia Kalamiotissa. Another lovely hiking path that begins in Hora leads through Roukounas Beach, Agios Ioannis Beach, and Megas Potamos Beach and ends at the Monastery of Zoodohos Pigi.

If you want more of an adrenaline rush, you may want to try rock climbing. Argonaut Expedition is the climbing route on the island of Anafi. This is a climbing route that will take between 5 and 7 hours. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for climbing in Anafi.

Enjoy the Local Specialties

Visitors to the Greek island of Anafi will definitely want to try the delicious local specialties. These include: goat meat that is oven-cooked; koufeto, a traditional sweet that is made with honey and almond; spaghetti made with lobster; and paragemista, a pie made with sesame and honey.

The local products of Anafi that visitors may was to try include: bread baked in wood fire ovens, thyme honey, strofyliatiko wine, and cheeses such as xialotiro, ladotyri, and mytzithra. On the island of Anafi, you will find many coffee spots, places to enjoy cocktails, and Greek and seafood cuisine options.

Visit the Capital of Anafi

The village of Hora is the capital of the island of Anafi. Hora is located on the south side of the island and is the only village in Anafi. The village is of traditional Cycladic architecture with labyrinth alleys, flowery courtyards, and whitewashed houses. Stroll the winding streets and stop into shops and taverns as they catch your eye. You can also enjoy the view of the Aegean Sea as you explore the charming capital village.

Take a Boat Trip

You can take a boat trip that will take you around the peninsula of Kalamos. This is a unique experience that will allow you to admire the breathtaking landscapes including those that rise 400 meters above the boat. You may be lucky enough to see rock climbers navigating the area.

From the island of Anafi, you can take a boat trip to the island of Santorini, one of the most well-known and popular islands in Greece. The red cliffs and beaches of varying colors will leave you speechless. Even the houses of Santorini are colorful.
