What to Do at Fokos Beach

One of the wonderful things about Fokos Beach is that there is taverna on site. If you want to spend the day at the beach, you won’t have to worry about where to get food and drinks. The menu at the taverna is inspired by traditional Mykonian and Mediterranean cuisine. Seasonal ingredients that are fresh and bursting with flavor are used in these delicious meals. In addition to the fresh shrimp, fish, and barbecued grilled meat, you can pair your meal with a refreshing wine. If you’re not sure what wine will pair well with your meal, don’t be afraid to ask for a recommendation. After you’ve had your meal, enjoy a tasty dessert.

When you’re not enjoying the mouth-watering meals at the taverna, you will love spending time on the beach. Fokos Beach is secluded and quiet. It’s the perfect place to bring a book and lounge under the sun. The beach is clean, wide, and sandy. Behind Fokos Beach you will find another beach. This beach is called Mersini and it’s also a secluded beach that makes the perfect spot for a quiet afternoon. If you do have access to a bike or quad, this is a wonderful way to see the surrounding area.

Visit the artificial lake of Marathi if you want to do some exploring. This lake collects rain water that will serve as the island’s source of water, especially during months when rainfall is limited. The lake was created in 1992 and is protected from pollution.
