Recipe for Gyro Burritos

Written by in , , Comments Off on Recipe for Gyro Burritos

This gyro isn’t a traditional gyro but is rather a cross between a gyro and a burrito. It uses traditional gyro meat, some of the traditional Greek gyro ingredients, as well as salsa, cheddar cheese, and cilantro.

Gyro Burrito Recipe Ingredients:

  • 4 burrito wraps
  • 1 recipe Greek tzatziki
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup prepared salsa
  • Grated cheddar cheese (eyeball)
  • Slices of gyro meat (eyeball it, but about 4-8 slices per sandwich depending on the size of the pita)
  • 4 tablespoons chopped, fresh cilantro

Instructions on How to Make Gyro Burritos:

Make the pita bread and tzatziki according to the recipe instructions.

Place a piece of aluminum foil down on a flat surface. Put one of the burrito wraps in the center of the foil. Spread some tzatziki across the middle of the pita bread. Top with onion, tomato, salsa, cheddar cheese and then add the gyro meat. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the fresh cilantro over each sandwich.

Roll the gyro/burrito and wrap it in aluminum foil so it can hold the shape. Repeat until you’ve used up all the bread.
